The Bombay High Court has ruled that sex selection insults womanhood, in response to a couple’s petition to choose a male child before conception.
They argued that it was better to have a male child in India as the country is not socially or economically ready to accept a female child.
”There is nothing wrong with it; the motivating force behind it has been my mother. She wanted to pave the way for couples who already have one or two daughters.
And who is the country in this case? It’s people like them who think there’s nothing wrong with their attitudes, and who listen to their mother-in-laws going on about how they can be pathbreakers fighting for the rights of parents who don’t want girls!
