‘‘If Prathibha can become the President of India without any reservation, women of our state can also succeed in achieving fame,’’ she added.

‘‘Today politicians claim that the Panchayati Raj system is their achievement. But in reality, the system was prevalent in ancient India,’’ Nayak said. Lamenting on the current corrupt political situation, she said that money and wine were dominating the politics and ruining the nation. She also lauded the state government’s effort of banning arrack.
