There was a large spread in today’s HT on the strides women in Afghanistan, particularly Kabul, have made since the fall of the Taliban. They are peeling back the covering layers, some venturing out in only headscarves, and into the workplace. Indian efforts are playing a large part in the renewal; the famous organisation, SEWA (Self-Employed Women’s Association) is helping with training initiatives for women in various sectors.
