Police found a girl with her male friend (the title assumes it’s her boyfriend) in a hotel, arrested him and the hotel manager–and paraded her around town. Because it’s not only immoral but illegal to have sex out of marriage? And we don’t even know that’s what they were doing!
Pictured are women police officers, too, and silly me I thought they were meant to deal with these matters a bit more tactfully. Goes right back to my last post.
I find it strange that the article goes from describing the event as ’shocking’ and ‘bizarre’ to comparing it to how police recently tied a thief to a motorcycle and dragged him. I suppose the author was trying to point out the similar instances of moral policing, of how the police are making their own judgements and meting out punishments. However, the added element of sexuality and gender bias (the girl wasn’t arrested but publicly shamed?) makes this instance much different.
